I understand everyone’s body is different, but what is the norm for this sort of thing? I’m planning on getting a tattoo that would go down my ribs and maybe onto my stomach a bit, but I’m worried that when I’m older if I get pregnant it might get messed up. If that’s a strong possibility I would move the location of the tattoo.
If anyone has before and after photos of tattoos like this I would really like to see them, thanks ![]()
Everyone is different, but a good indicator of whether or not you have good elasticity is by looking at your parents. Do they have stretchmarks? How has their skin held up over time? Ask your mother what sort of effects pregnancy had on her stomach. Another is by looking at your skin right now, do you have any stretchmarks just from regular growing? If yes, you’re very likely to end up with them after pregnancy.
I would say if you’re worried, the USUAL areas affected by pregnancy are the stomach, starting from an inch or two above belly button from one side to the other all the way down to the pants line. If you want to avoid the possibility of a destroyed tattoo, better to be safe than sorry and put it as high and on the side as possible!
