Do you need cable/satellite service to use a tv turner in your PC?

I have windows 7, and one of the promo features with it, is that you can use windows media center to watch and record tv on your pc. but you need to get a tv turner for your computer in order to do it. My question is whether you need a cable or satellite tv service provider as well, or if the tv tuner picks up the channels.

You need a source for the PC to record. That could be a cable/satellite tv provider or DVD, or OTA Over the Air channels.

Do you think watching TV via internet will someday replace Cable and Satalight?

Actually internet technology is currently implemented in digital cable. What happens is that data passes through a private network (others use the internet) and go directly to your cable box. There are alternatives though in literally using your computer (internet) in watching TV and that is by using a TV adapter.

I don’t see the use of computers to TV setup though competing with a digital box and a TV though as computers tend to take too much electricity and difficult to navigate from.

How can I download an internet tv programme into my mp4 digital player ?

I bought an mp4 player that supports USB. I have tried to download any tv or video programme, or even music. My problem is ‘I don’t know how, and what steps to take. Can some guide me?

It’s easy.
1. Go to any torrent website and download the tv programme in avi format.
2. Once the download is finished, use a movie converter (freeware found on net) to convert it to the .mp4 format with the proper resolution.
3. Drag it into the videos folder in the mp4 and it’ll work

I just got a new Apple laptop and would like to see if anyone knows of a good satellite tv software that I can use? It has to work on my MAC and be free or not cost too much at least. I don’t mind paying so long as it works well.

Hello, Has anyone tried the Satellite Tv on your PC. They say its a one time fee of $49.00 for 3000 stations no fees ever again. Just download their software. Is this to good to be true? Also can you hook up your PC to your TV. I have a new Plasma TV so I think it would have the connections there but not sure how this all works. I am trying to cut costs in my house hold and it would be nice to have no cable bill. Thanks Everyone.

I use it everyday on my pc to catch with with the news and some sports. Frankly, I haven’t tried fixing to the tv but I think it’s more suitable for the pc or laptop.

The advantage of this satellite tv for pc is the flexibility and convenience, like you can watch anywhere – in the office, in your study or even in the garden. But if you have a nice big plasma tv, I think I’ll stick to cable or satellite tv.

has anyone ever downloaded or brought any Satellite TV for Your PC software which is offered on the internet, offerring anywhere from 1,000 to 3,000 channels, and if so does it show a good picture or does it work like the crap you get on your cell (streaming clips every few seconds) or does it show like regular tv (satellite quality).

Its a flat out hoax! These sites promise you world television and charge you for something that is totally free in the first place! These channels are freely broadcast on the net already! No need to pay and they are grainy and poor quality at best!

I travel the country for my job. I am in part of the National Sales and Marketing team for a major Hotel corporation. I was wondering if Satellite for TV on PC software works internationally. It is important for me to stay up to date with my favorite television series while I am traveling. I am a major fan of Big Brother, 24, NFL, and so much more I can’t afford to miss. I am interested in hearing back from anyone who has used this software internationally if at all.

Does DishNetPc TV or Satellite TV for PC software really work? Is it really live tv in HD? What common channels do you get that Comcast, Direcway or Dish Network also offer?
