no. it wouldn`t hurt. but i heard on the side of the neck it hurts more. i asked my sister, she has like 6 tattoos. and one is on the neck she said it feels like a massage.

I am speaking from experience. I have a tattoo on the side of my neck behind my right ear and it hurt the least of my 4 tattoos (I have 1 on my ankle, 1 on my thigh, 1 on my neck and 1 on my temple). The neck did not hurt very much, the worst part about it was the noise right behind the ear.

And it is easy to cover up as long as you don’t have super short hair.

i have a 4 inch tattoo on the back of my neck and it didn't hurt at all.

Probably….and by that I mean yes. Getting a tatt on your neck will be extra painful for a few reasons.
The skin in thinner
Nerves and veins are closer to the surface

Also, having one done so close to your ears, face and nose will heighten your experience. It will be more difficult to block out the pain when the noise and smells are so close to your major sensory areas.
I would guess that the sides and front of your neck would hurt slightly more than on the back. My back tatt is from shoulder blade to shoulder blade……I felt the majority of the pain when the needle was over my spine.

Oh yeah…DO NOT get drunk or wasted beforehand. The artist will not do it if he/she knows your are intoxicated and it takes away from the experience. Nobody said getting a tattoo was painless….the pain is part of the entire experience. If you can’t handle it maybe you should think of getting it in another spot that isn’t as sensitive. ie. shoulder, arm.

no. tattoos hurt less the more you get them done. they hurt more when they get over a bone and since you already had that experience with your thigh, you should be alright.

yes you will feel it more. and no you CAN’T GET "TOASTED" before hand because the tattoo shop won’t do it then.

being drunk thins the blood-so no respectable shop will do you if youre drunk or been drinking.

Yes, it will. The skin on your neck is thinner and there’s less muscle there, so it will probably be more painful. I got a tattoo on the inside of my elbow, and it was quite painful, more than the ones on my shoulder and leg. So it depends on how badly you really want it…
