I’m looking for a place that you would personally recommend very highly. If you know of a place, please leave the name of the place and the number I can contact for more information please. Thank you!

A friend told me about this place but it’s in Kingston which I guess would be north of you. Perhaps they know of someone down your way.

It is obvious that taking a Dog Obedience class would be the best solution. But as someone said above, going to a class takes time and costs money. A good dog training center is also not always available close to where you live.

It is why some other resources are made available like magazines, books and DVDs to learn things. To learn cooking for example, you may go to a class and learn the ropes or purchase a recipe book, watch a TV cooking show or a DVD.

To answer the question, I would recommend to visit the Bad Dog Training tricks blog and get their free email dog training course and see if their DVD is the one you need.

Class schedule for "beginning" classes in Dog Obedience
days? times? locations? price?

It is usually posted near the enclosure they train in. The cost is around $109 for 8 weeks. For a better bang for your buck, go to www.akc.org or www.ukcdogs.com. Search the club listings for a training club(obedience) in your area. The training will be far better and done by people who have trained their own dogs and shown them in obedience trials and earned titles on them.

Would you agree to have your dog temperament/obedience tested before it was allowed off the lead in public areas such as parks and nature reserves?

Personally I wouldn’t mind having my dogs assessed; the only disadvantage would be while you were training the dog and it couldn’t socialise off the lead.

Would this encourage people to train their dogs in basic things like recall on command? (One of my Dobes was attacked on three occasions and the owners had no ability/interest in recalling their dogs.)

Actually mine are all CGC titled and TT titled plus obed trained/titled to an AKC CD level so YES I am all for it. I would also prefer to pay for the use of a safe dog park where an attendant throws out nasty dogs and females in season plus kids.

I’ve been a senior recruiter for 12 years, prior to that an Office Manager for 6 years. Throughout my career, I’ve always handled heavy administrative tasks; multiple projects with deadlines. Which includes keeping hiring manager calendars, travel arrangements, expense reimbursments and heavy use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) etc. Any suggestions on how to obtain an Office Manager position would be helpful. I’ve search a ton of websites, and applied to various opportunities; however I think folks feel as though I’m overqualified, or out of certain salary ranges.

You’ve been a senior recruiter for 12 years….Why not consider human resources? There are lots of human resource positions available. Most HR Assistants perform the duties you described. Based on what you are applying for you probably are over qualified and employers feel that you would have no growth with their company based on what they are offering. For example, most companies hire the most qualified candidates, those who lack training, at the mid point of the salary range.

Have you tried looking at universities for Office Management Positions? Are you aware that Office Management positions are considered Exempt and do not provide over time pay? It may be better for you to consider a career as a high level Administrative Assistant. I don’t know what market you’re in, but there’s always a need there. The website below is the Association of Administrative Professionals. That will give you more insight into the field as it has changed significantly in the last 12 years. Good Luck.

This is a new website I shall be developing for my Project Management Office, IT (like recruitments as one of the functionalities)..

Pick a nonsense (or near nonsense) word that is brandable and easy to spell. Then *make* it mean what you need it to mean.

For example, Amazon.com is an online seller of books and electronics. What does that have to do with female warriors who live in a jungle? Nothing. But it is easy to spell, and Amazon has managed to make an association in your mind.

What does the word "yahoo" have to do with a search engine? Nothing. But it’s memorable and easy to spell, and that’s all that matters. The guys at Yahoo *made* it mean what they needed it to mean.

Vonage is basically a nonsense word. It just sounds nice, but the guys at Vonage *made* it mean cheap phone service.

There are lots of domain names that are brandable and available. They just have to be memorable and easy to spell. For example, "pontanus.com" is available. So is "domatek.com" and "vintok.com".

Career Paper

Carpentry, a career in which you could do lots of different things, and watch your creation comes together. You could work for a union, work for someone you might know, or maybe even start your own business and just become your own boss. But everything is possible with patience, you cant just start away from college by creating your own Business your going to need some previous knowledge on how to run things, and plus your going to need to know people that would be interested in your services.
Salary wise it will all depend on what you’re working on, and how big of a project it is. You’re not going to get the same profit from building a shed than building a house. If you might be working for a union the starting salary might be around $17-$18 /hour. The regular earning could change depending on the weather, because carpenters usually lose work during the cold seasons. Work conditions could be cold and brick or it could be hot and very sunny. But everything is worth it at the end; you get to see your project complete and you also get paid. The good thing about being a carpenter is that you could also help yourself by doing your own work around the house without having to pay somebody to do it, and have friends see your work so in the future they would call or refer you to their friends. Most of the business comes from how many people you know and how good of a job you do, because if you leave something not well done, well there’s goes your money. So whenever you might be working on something, make sure you do

your best possible work, thus people giving other jobs in the future. Your work all depends on you, so don’t mess it up.
College wise, it isn’t necessary to become a carpenter, but it definitely could be really helpful. To become a carpenter, you’re going to need to know math most importantly because you will be dealing with numbers throughout your job and fractions etc. My choice, would be a school of technology which allows you to go hands-on, not just read about it in textbooks, and plus for a degree wise, there many out there for carpenters, you just have to choose the right one and go with it. There certificates which are helpful in union companies, so you can become a contracted carpenter and not just a laborer who helps around. In my case I’m thinking about getting some hands-on work first so I have the basics down, and then might go to college to catch up on my math and learn new techniques and new machines out there that are invented to make jobs easier. It will be up top you to decide on what exactly you plan on doing, if you would like to start your own business, not only will you have to know about carpentry but also business management, wouldn’t want your business to fall.
Becoming a carpenter could take you too many other jobs, such as architecture. Architecture is planning the building and creating it without having to do much of the hard work outside, but still have to know what materials your going to need and how much of it. Of course, architects make more money than a regular carpenter might make, but it is also a hard job to do, wouldn’t want to mess up a calculation and then making the rest of the project come out wrong, carpenters are just instructed on what to do and they

do it with the information the architect gives them. Some cases architects are also carpenters and do their own work, which is double the work, but double the money.
If you would like more information on carpentry, you could always look up books, my favorite would be Careers without College: Building written by Peggy Schmidt, the developer of the series. Or just ask any carpenter you might know, and let them know you’re interested in becoming a future carpenter and if they could give you pointers or maybe even a job as their apprentice.

Thank you and good luck.

I want to get my associate degree in Human Resources Management, but before I do that I want to get a certificate in Project Management so that I can make a little bt more while working on my associate degree. What kind of careers could I do if I had a certificate in Project Management? Thank You.

Hey! Project Management certification is like a Master Degree. You’ll need about 16 credit hours of Project Management course work and then pass a certification test. I doubt very seriously if anyone would hire a Project Manager without a four year degree in that particular field. Also the combined cost of a Project Management certification and a associate degree would take in time and cost the same as a bachelor degree. Plus I haven’t seen to many opening available for a Project Manager for Human Resources. HR is not doing projects that require this type of skill. If you want to build something or design a complicated system you’ll need a PM to coordinate all the activity and keep it on schedule.
